Modern Technology and several Environmental issues promote the conversion of commercial refrigerant to next generation refrigerant with low GWP. These
advanced, low GWP refrigerants require suitable refrigeration lubricant. In order to protect compressors in these refrigerants, excellent refrigeration
oil with good miscibility as well as high lubricity is designed.
Polyolester Oil (POE oil) is a type of synthetic oil developed especially for refrigeration compressors.

Properties :
♦ POEs perform well over a wide temperature range.
♦ They are compatible with existing mineral oil and alkyl benzene lubricants.
♦ POE oil is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture).
♦ Polyol Ester [POE] base lubricants have miscibility with HFC and refrigerants.
♦ POE oils are very good solvents and easily dissolve the residual mineral oils.
♦ They are compatible with existing mineral oil and alkyl benzene lubricants.
♦ POE oil is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture).

Advantages :

Disadvantages :
♦ Due to Its hygroscopic nature it absorbs moisture which may require repair.
♦ It can be effective detergents, releasing debris that might be present which clogs the system.
